Diabetic Foot Assessments
Foot checks and education to help identify concerns early for people living with diabetes.
Book an assessment
What it is
Diabetes can affect sensation and blood supply in the feet. Assessment supports awareness of skin, nail and pressure changes and helps plan care around your individual risks.
Risks and concerns
An injury may go unnoticed when sensation is reduced, and healing can be slower. Skin breaks can develop into ulcers or infection. A new wound, redness or swelling deserves prompt attention.
Treatment and support options
Options include daily foot checks, properly fitted footwear, appropriate professional nail care, and follow-up with your diabetes team or podiatrist. Your risk level helps guide the frequency of review.
How I can help
I review your foot history and concerns, inspect skin and nails, and assess foot-care needs within my nursing practice. I discuss sensation and circulation concerns, provide suitable nail and skin care, and recommend further assessment when indicated.
Follow-up and care considerations
Use a mirror or ask for help with daily checks if you cannot see all of your feet. Seek prompt medical care for wounds or suspected infection. Planned nursing visits support your ongoing diabetes care.
